THE SAD REALITY OF ISRAEL by Jacob 8:42am Thu Dec 4 '03 to whoever is worrying about indymedia being taken over by zionist nationalism - this is the sad reality of israel (from someone who has been living there the last 7 years) print article what you are seeing here is just a reflection of the way things are happening in israel. actually, it's not even a good reflection, this is just the tip of the iceberg of how nationalistic, brutal and sure of their way these people are. but the sad reality is that they are the majority in israel and they are in power. they make the decisions at the government, they have the weapons, they rule the media and they own and teach in the schools to make sure there will be no short supply of brain washed kids ready to become soldiers who die and kill for their beloved nation and religion against the dreadful enemy. it's both sad and funny to see how they create in their own country what they claim they fear the most in their enemies- religious and nationalistic fundamentalism. welcome to 1984 - the israeli version, where evrything is possible like being a nation-centric zionist and calling yourself 'left wing' or having a racist law and land system and calling yourself a democracy (but then again 'war is peace' remember?) this is the very very very sad reality of israel. you can feel the brutalness everywhere, when you walk the streets, when (if) you drive a car or when trying to say something that the religious-nationalistic-centric mainstream doesn't like (that is, not programed to like). it's very very sad to see it happening to a place with such great potential, but that's the reality and there's no point denying it or closing web sites because of it. this site might actually serve as a platform for trying to figure out how to start a very deep change in the mainstream israeli way of thinking that is urgently needed add your comments

It sounds like the usa.... by RC 9:31am Thu Dec 4 '03 print comment If you didn't say Israel, i would have thought you were here in the u.s.a...And i am hoping for the same thing you are. There is alot written here about changing consciousness, and ways of 'seeing' and understanding what the deeper dynamics are here. I think it is quite monumental and far reaching. The potential for growth and evolution here is great, as is the potential for disaster. I almost would say it is two paradigms, old and nascent, banging and crashing up against each other, causing quite a shakey earth. There needs to be some constructive release of emotional energy here,and a much more creative way to see our own natures. A much more positive way is needed. And it will take a great deal of spiritual courage, i believe.. Check out the article by Amir from yesterday. I am not sure of the title, but it has the word "live" in it. I am living in Israel many times more then this Jacob (Who?) and frankly I do not know what the hell he is talking about. He is definitely describing an Israel that is not in reality and bending opinions and intentions to a flat view of his own world and opinions. I guess that what happen when your brain is shut up and merely open to one opinion only something like a Reveres Osmosis process or alike. He is portraying Orwellian Israel while this expression is like east far away from the west in regards to Israel attitude. Israel is among the most open, democratic, life loving, peace loving countries of the world. The Israel’s problem is the huge amount of counter/opposed internal opinions…We use to say here that “whenever five Israelis gather together you hear ten different opinions”… A situation that is far away from the one described here by this Jacob (Who?). Israelis, 75% of the, supporting peace, and pole after pole is assessing that. Sure the term is uncompromised drive for own security in return, but what is wrong with that? I know, some of the site’s Pavlov Dogs will pop up in protest, after all I am spoiling there etched picture of Israel in their spongy minds, but we all knows already the inability of such people (?) to face and handle the truth. 1984 by RC 6:30am Fri Dec 5 '03 print comment That is the most bone chilling reality that I have seen. It happened really fast, too. It is so striking, that I can't imagine not 'seeing' it. It have had several moments, over the past 2 years, where I just can't believe that I actually have continued to live here with that awareness. It is a kind of reality that just permeates the atmosphere on many different levels. Every once in a while I get a mental image of Darth Vader too..The soulessness is suffocating at times. On the other hand, I believe it did need to go this far. It makes sense, because not much has been learned, in a few thousand years. It paralells an individual's life. Things are gonna keep getting more intense, until we, 'get it', or wake up, and realize that all we have is ourselves. As you would say, ct, we choose the path of life or the path of death. It really has come down to that now. It is really clear. It obviously can't continue to go on as it has. It is not viable. So, I see that it is really all about choice. You know, there is a 'commercial' on t.v here, someone just told me about it, that promotes first strike intitiative as the way to a safer world...it is a republican party campain ad, i think..How sci fi is that? I really do believe that there is a very deep part of the psyche, that holds the belief that someone is going to come and rescue us, at the last minute. And that is what the fundamentalist, evangelicals are promoting. That is part of the philosophical underpinnings of creating this madness. They believe they are going to be saved, just before the world is destroyed..So they don't care. That is something that is new. And that is what pushes this whole thing into a surreal dimension. But I believe that we may just pull it off..But I am afraid that we have yet to 'see it all'...rita add your comments
