תושבי יאסוף מבקשים נוכחתנו כאשר נמשיך במסיק ביום ב'.
אנשים רצו כבר להמשיך היום (שישי), אבל מכבדים את רצון המת"ק (מטה תאום וקשר ישראלי-פלשתינאי) לדחות את ההמשך עד יום ב' (בהבנה שבכוונתם לאבטח את המסיק באותו יום). ניתן כבר לישון שם בערב שלפני ואנו נארגן הסעה ששוב תצא מי-ם בשעה 16:30 ומכפר קאסם בשעה 18:00.
נא להודיע על השתתפותכם כך שנוכל לארגן תחבורה ולהודיע על שינוים.

Calling all Israelis.
Today - 18th October - there is a tank dominating the landscape on top of the Palestinian hill. It has its muzzle pointing straight down the Palestinian agricultural road that they made to make access easier to their olive trees. The tank is there to protect Palestinians we are told - but in an aside to an international we were told it is there to protect the settlers. indeed the settlers are still armed and can be seen passing the tank and chattign casually to the soldiers.
The Palestinians have been warned not to come to their fields today - the police will not be there to protect them - the army is in obvious collaboration with the settlers ......the Palestinians are unarmed and after the confrontation yesterday when gun shots and stone throwing resulted in several minor injuries and when the settlers were being most intimidating - it is clear that the police are needed to control the settlers.
Yesterday was a victory for nonviolence as the Palestinians sat peacefully containing the violence and intimidation against them. Once the settlers were 'guarded' by internaitonals and Israelis and the police finally got to the scene and removed 5 of them they were able to continue picking their olives.
The DCO's from both Israeli and palestinian sides have agreed that the picking can be finished next Monday 21st. So we are calling on any friendly Israelis to come to the village of Yasuf on Sunday evening (you will be given a bed and good food and hospitality from the grateful villagers) so as to be ready to accompany them to the fields at 6.30 a.m. If you cannot stay the night then please arrive by 6.30 a.m. at the latest as the confrontation if there is one happens at the beginning of the day and is usually over in a few hours.
