The Egyptain Islamist thinker Fahmi Hawady in Alahram today offers a defense of "our collegue Adil Hammoda".He starts his aricle by arguing that those who work and move and commit tricks(Yahtaloon) to achieve thier goals and serve thier intersets should not be blamed.Yahtaloon,used by the Islamist has negative connotation in Arabic.Almuhtal,the noun is Nassab,thief,lies,decieve,etc.Whose intersts and whose goals this "islamist"is talking about and what is the criteria and standards and what are these goals and intersts and what are exactly these tricks this Islamist is calling for learing them from the Israelis as he argues?To partialy show some of his Macavilian style he claims that the incident of Damascus appeared in Damascus two centuries ago.He does not even say around two centuries and his purpose is to conceal the date (1840) or he is two ignorant of the story and thus unqualified to write about it.I hypotheze that he wants to conceal 1840,the year the Monk Tomasa and his servent disappeared.The purpose of negleting the date is makes it sound as out of context of colonialism.The Islamist Egyptain Mr Hawady seems to believes the story is true because it is Maroofa,famous and is found in Arab and forihgn sources.The avialability of many secondary sources can be just bias and one has to go to the primary source the Court records or more accuratley the policing investigation and keep in mind the European desire to force the Turks to open the closed Jewish community of Damascus and this incident was a key factor.In addition the court records are not evidence in them selves.The Islamist thinker must analyze and investigate the events that may have led tothis record and then give his professional view educting the reader .But he just wants to publish articles daily without working and moving as he advice above.Thus even the French official who could not read in Arabic the court record is not a primary source.Thus articles in the French and British which relied on him are not evidence that the story is true.But the problem that Faces The thinker is that the Library Catalog of Egyptian universities with my respect is backward and defect and corrupt.You can never under such a library system conduct any research.Muslims and Christian and Jews lived centuries together and this story of ritual blood sucking of Christians by Jews were nor reported and this what Fahmi neglect to deal with.This is not to suggest that harmony and total peasce existed among Jews and Muslamans.No for even within Muslims like Druz,Sunni,Shiites serious disharmony existed.But it is when European anti- semetism was introduced to Arabs that the relations between Muslims and Jews atarted to seriously collapse and unfourtantly The Egyptian Islamist thinker rather than acting within the spirit of the Egyptian Israeli Peace treaty to facilitate broader peace is diong the opposite and above that distorting Islam and making Islamic thought Macavili.
