The trial of Rennan Amin Salameh, a Druse objector on whose case we have reported in the past, has finally ended this week. He was sentenced by a military tribunal to four months in prison for his refusal to serve in the Israeli army. However, since Rennan has been in prison for quite long already, his scheduled release date is now quite near - 2 Apr. 2002. I do not yet know what are the prospects of him being imprisoned again after the end of this term, and will update you once I have this information.
