Your statement that Europeans are no more likely to be the descendants of Palestinians of biblical times than modern day Palestinians is unlikely, The natives have lived here for millennia interbreeding with people from other lands but that is true of biblical times as well. Jews and none Jews of biblical times were always living in a changing environment as Palestine is a port town, where business export is conducted. Nationality is not defined by people of identical background as if that were so the notion of a Jewish nation would fall flat on its face. Nationalism is defined by a common culture which is permeated in the society.
