ביום שני, ה-19.7.2010, שוב הגיעו שוטרי משמר הגבול לעמק בקעה, שבגדה המערבית, כשהם מלווים בפועלים. הם הרסו בור אגירת מי גשמים, ועקרו צינורות השקיה בשישה עשר דונם נוספים, תוך הרס גידולי ירקות. נשים וילדים שהתנגדו לעקירות, הוכו בידי שוטרי משמר הגבול.

Israel steals about 80% of the water resources of the West Bank .

On Monday, 19th July, 2010, Border Police units again visited the Baq''a valley in the West Bank , accompanied by labourers. They destroyed a cistern that collects rainwater, and uprooted irrigation pipes that were supplying another 16 dunums (dunum=1000 sq.m.) of farmland with water, while destroying vegetables. Women and children who resisted were physically beaten up by the border police.

Police Destroy Unrecognized Village in Negev

Early this morning police raided the unrecognized Bedouin village of al-Arakib in the Negev, destroyed all 40 of its houses, and evicted more than 300 residents. The residents, mostly children, were left homeless (Press release).

At the residents' call, dozens of left-wing activists and volunteers arrived from all over the country, helping them by offering non-violent resistance.

המשטרה הרסה כפר לא מוכר בנגב

alarakib משטרת ישראל פשטה ביום שלישי ה27.7.10 לפנות בוקר, על הכפר הלא מוכר אל-עראקיב שבנגב, הרסה את כל 40 בתי הכפר, ופינתה יותר מ- 300 תושבים שהתגוררו בהם. התושבים, מרביתם ילדים, נותרו ללא קורת גג והושארו בשטח (הודעה לעיתונות).

התושבים הזעיקו למקום עשרות פעילי שמאל ומתנדבים מרחבי הארץ, שסייעו להם בהתנגדות לא אלימה כמה מהתושבים נחבלו והוכו בידי השוטרים, אך לא נזקקו לטיפול רפואי.

The fall of El-Arakib

Yesterday I witnessed an entire village being demolished by the Israeli police force and Kakal.

It was four o'clock this morning. A few members of the Negev Co-existence forum, me included met in Be'er Sheva and rode off to El-Arakib, a Bedouin village just north of the city, fearing we were already too late. We rode off the main road to the rocky track that leads to the entrance of the desert village. We were temporarily pleased to find, that the huge expected police forces which were sighted in the nearby junctions were not there, yet.

הכפר אל עראקיב כולו נהרס הבוקר

היום בבוקר ראיתי כפר שלם מפונה ונהרס בידי כוחות המשטרה והקק"ל.

בארבע לפנות בוקר נפגשנו, אני, וכמה פעילי הפורום לדו קיום בנגב מבאר שבע, ונסענו לאל עראקיב, כפר הממוקם כשני קילומטרים צפון-מערבה לבאר שבע. עם חשש שכבר הגענו מאוחר מדי.

ירדנו לכביש עפר בין באר שבע לצומת להבים, המוביל לאל-עראקיב, והתברר לנו, לשמחתנו הזמנית, שכוחות המשטרה טרם הגיעו לכפר, שהם עדיין נאספים בהמוניהם בצמתים הסמוכים לכביש הגישה אליו.
